Unlike mass-produced items, Healthy Toy products are made from food-safe and odorless materials. Conventional dog toys are made from “natural rubber,” which has an acquired smell and may even contain toxic substances.
“Made in Germany” applies not only to the manufacturing of Healthy Toy products; the raw materials also come from certified German suppliers.
Healthy Toy toys are buoyant, food-safe, odorless, and dishwasher-safe.
Unlike mass-produced items, all Healthy Toy products are made from food-safe TPE material.
The raw materials used have been listed and approved by both the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and the BfR (Federal Institute for Risk Assessment).
TPE stands for thermoplastic elastomers, which refers to a special type of plastic granulate.
Conventional elastic Frisbees are made from natural rubber; this rubber is mixed with sulfur so that manufacturers can process it further. That’s why many rubber products have a smell that takes some getting used to.
There are fundamental differences between these raw materials and their processing methods.
TPE granules are heated to over 200°C and injected into a cooled injection mold, where they solidify.
Rubber, on the other hand, is heated to approximately 80°C and injected into a hot mold, where it hardens (vulcanizes).
The advantage of TPE is that it can be reused an infinite number of times. For example, rejected parts are finely ground to produce granules again. The recovered material still retains the same properties, allowing it to be reheated and reprocessed at any time.
Although the granulate raw material costs many times more than raw rubber, recycling is not possible with rubber.
That’s why Healthy Toy uses materials that are not only gentle on your little one but also on the environment!
