Eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis) is one of the traditional herbs that has been used for centuries for natural eye care in both humans and animals. Our pure eyebright herb in a 50-g package is processed with special care so that dogs and cats can benefit from its reliable, gentle effects. Whether as eyebright tea, a diluted wash, or a soothing compress: This herb naturally supports sensitive eyes without synthetic additives.

What is eyebright, and why is it so highly valued?

Euphrasia is a mild yet effective plant traditionally used to soothe irritated eyes. Many pet owners turn to this herb because its effects are geared toward gentle relief and care. Typical uses include mild irritation, watery eyes, or supportive external care for mild conjunctivitis.

Eyebright Tea – Versatile in Use

Eyebright tea can be easily made from the herb. This tea serves as a base for eye baths, compresses, or washes. The tea can then be gently applied or used with a soft cloth. However, eye baths or compresses should always be applied with care.

When used internally—for example, as a mild tea or mixed into feed—eyebright can also be used as a dietary supplement. When taken internally, eyebright can have a positive effect on the body’s mucous membranes, including those of the eyes and nose. The herb contains tannins and phytochemicals that can have a balancing and soothing effect.

Tips for Use

For preparation and use, 100% pure eyebright herb is suitable both externally as a wash, compress, or eye bath, and internally as a tea. To prepare the tea, simply use one teaspoon per 250 ml of water, bring to a brief boil, and let steep for about ten minutes. It is important to let the tea cool completely and to use a clean cloth for each eye to prevent the spread of any irritation. The infusion should always be freshly prepared, as it contains no preservatives. A small amount of tea can also be mixed into the food; however, care should be taken to introduce it gradually, especially for cats. Since eyebright is used as a complementary care product and not as a medication, it gently supports eye care—especially when the sensitive area needs to be soothed or cleansed.
