What are DMSO and MSM?
This booklet provides a step-by-step introduction to the basics of DMSO and MSM. DMSO is presented as an organic sulfur compound that was originally discovered as a byproduct of pulp and paper production and is now synthetically produced in high purity. It is colorless, highly soluble, penetrates biological membranes particularly well, and has anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and circulation-enhancing effects. MSM is described as a natural oxidation product of DMSO that occurs in the global sulfur cycle and has been used as a dietary supplement since the 1980s—primarily to support joints, connective tissue, and skin.
