BARF – Improving Animal Health Through a Biologically Appropriate Raw Diet

After decades of working in veterinary practice, completing numerous continuing education courses, and running her own small animal clinic, Dr. Jutta Ziegler realized one thing: Despite modern medicine, many of her animal patients continued to suffer from chronic conditions.

Dr. Jutta Ziegler

With 20 years of experience as a veterinarian and 10 years working at a small-animal clinic practicing conventional medicine, I sold a lot of “veterinary pet food” from well-known large corporations. I was even one of the top sellers of veterinary pet food in Austria.

However, I quickly realized that the care of the animals wasn't going smoothly: Many animals went from one illness to the next and became chronically ill. That's when I began to rethink things. I started to question the approaches we had been taught at the university.
